This Privacy Policy explains what happens with your data on Cloudly, in plain terms.
Only the messages sent in the chat rooms. Nothing else. No IP addresses, no device information, no persistent identifiers.
Messages are used to make the chat work. They are not sold, not analyzed for marketing, not shared with advertisers, and not used for anything outside of running the chat.
Cloudly retains chat messages only for as long as they are needed to provide the chat experience. Right now that limit is 24 hours.
For security and abuse prevention purposes (such as rate limiting, temporary banning, and moderation) Cloudly stores hashed IP addresses.
IP addresses are hashed using SHA-256 combined with a unique salt. This hash is used internally to detect repeated abusive behavior. The original IP address is never stored or logged. Hashed IP data is used exclusively for automated moderation and cannot be reversed or linked to any identifiable information.
Links to other sites may appear in Cloudly. Those sites have their own rules and their own privacy policies. Check them if it matters to you. Cloudly has no control over what those sites do.
Reasonable steps are taken to keep data secure, but no method of storage or transmission online is completely safe. Keep that in mind before posting anything sensitive.
Cloudly is not intended for anyone under 13.
Personal information is not knowingly collected from children under 13. If a parent or guardian believes a child has provided information here, contact the email below.
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted here.
